Triple therapy combination (GABA + DPP-4i + PPI)
Phase 2- Indications
- Type 1 diabetes
Company intelligence / Profile preview
Levicure has developed a patented, orally administered triple-combination therapy for type 1 diabetes that combines two FDA-approved drugs—a DPP4 inhibitor and a proton pump inhibitor—with a proprietary extended-release formulation of GABA. Early proof-of-concept studies in animal models and a small patient cohort have shown potential for restoring endogenous insulin production, reducing or eliminating the need for exogenous insulin. The company is preparing to enter Phase 2a trials following encouraging pre-IND feedback from the FDA. No randomized controlled trial data are yet available.[1][2][4][6]
