LIF is the trade association for the research-based pharmaceutical industry in Sweden, representing approximately 90 member companies that develop, manufacture, and market medicines. The organization acts as a central advocate for the industry, working to improve patient access to innovative treatments and ensuring Sweden remains a competitive environment for life science research and development. LIF manages the pharmaceutical industry's ethical framework through its Compliance Board (NBL) and Information Specialist (IGN), maintaining high standards for medicinal product information. Additionally, the association provides comprehensive data services through Fass, the Swedish national drug database, which serves as a critical resource for healthcare professionals and the public. By collaborating with government agencies, healthcare providers, and academic institutions, LIF plays a pivotal role in shaping healthcare policy and the regulatory landscape in Sweden.
