Lifestream Technologies was a medical technology company that specialized in the development and commercialization of point-of-care and home-use diagnostic monitoring systems. The company's flagship product was the Lifestream Cholesterol Monitor, a handheld device designed to provide consumers with rapid results for total cholesterol levels. Beyond home use, the company targeted the professional market, including pharmacies and corporate wellness programs, to facilitate cardiovascular health screening. Despite early commercial success and partnerships with major retailers, the company faced significant financial challenges and eventually filed for bankruptcy in 2007. In 2008, its assets were acquired by Polymer Technology Systems (now PTS Diagnostics), which integrated the technology into its own diagnostic portfolio.
