Lift Labs

Lift Labs was a healthcare hardware and assistive-technology company that developed Liftware, a stabilizing utensil system designed to help people with hand tremor eat more independently. Its products used sensors and motion-control technology to detect tremor and counteract shaking in real time. The company focused primarily on people living with essential tremor and Parkinson's disease, positioning its technology as a home-use quality-of-life device rather than a therapeutic drug platform. Lift Labs was acquired by Google in September 2014 and the product line was subsequently integrated into Google's life sciences effort, later Verily. The Liftware brand has continued commercially after the acquisition.
