Company intelligence / Profile preview
LightSpeed Genomics was a life science technology company that developed a high-throughput DNA sequencing platform based on its proprietary Synthetic Aperture Optics (SAO) technology. The SAO technology enabled high-resolution optical imaging without the need for expensive high-magnification lenses, significantly reducing the cost and increasing the speed of genomic analysis. The company's platform was designed to bridge the gap between low-cost sequencing and high-performance imaging. In 2012, LightSpeed Genomics was acquired by NuGEN Technologies to enhance NuGEN's NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) portfolio. Following the acquisition, the technology was integrated into NuGEN's sample preparation and sequencing workflows, which were later acquired by Tecan in 2018.
