Lihir Medical Centre

Lihir Medical Centre (LMC) is a comprehensive healthcare facility located on Lihir Island in the New Ireland Province of Papua New Guinea. The center provides a wide range of medical services, including emergency medicine, occupational health, radiology, and pathology, primarily serving the employees of the Lihir Gold Mine and the surrounding local community. LMC is internationally recognized for its robust public health programs, most notably its highly successful malaria control and elimination initiatives. The facility operates to international clinical standards and is currently managed under the umbrella of Newmont following its acquisition of Newcrest Mining.
