LINCO Research was a premier provider of immunoassay kits and services, specializing in the fields of endocrinology and metabolic research. Founded in 1992, the company was a pioneer in the development of multiplexed assays using the Luminex xMAP technology, which allowed researchers to measure multiple biomarkers simultaneously from a single sample. Their extensive product portfolio included ELISA, RIA, and Luminex-based kits for critical hormones such as insulin, leptin, and glucagon. In 2006, LINCO Research was acquired by Millipore Corporation for approximately $32 million to enhance its bioscience division. Following Millipore's subsequent acquisition by Merck KGaA, LINCO's technologies and products were fully integrated into the Merck life science portfolio.
