Lincoln Technologies was a specialized software company that provided pharmacovigilance and drug safety data mining solutions to the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory bodies. Its flagship platform, the Web-based Visual Data Mining Environment (WebVDME), utilized the Multi-item Gamma Poisson Shrinker (MGPS) algorithm to detect safety signals in large adverse event databases. The company gained significant prominence when its technology was adopted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the Adverse Event Reporting System (AERS). In 2005, Lincoln Technologies was acquired by Phase Forward for approximately $40 million to enhance its clinical trial and safety data management capabilities. Following Oracle's acquisition of Phase Forward in 2010, the technology was integrated into the Oracle Health Sciences suite.
