Lipedema Society

The Lipedema Society (LS) is a national nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to advancing the clinical understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of lipedema and other fat disorders. Founded in 2015 by Dr. David Amron, the society focuses on raising awareness, providing medical education, and developing clinical guidance and standards of care. It operates as a multidisciplinary network of physicians and healthcare professionals, offering certification programs for surgeons and advocating for insurance reform. The organization translates research and real-world evidence into resources for patients, clinicians, and policymakers to improve the quality of care for those affected by lipedema. LS also sponsors a specialized surgical fellowship program to train qualified surgeons from around the world in advanced lipedema reduction techniques.
