Overview
Liposphere has developed a proprietary water-based biolubricant platform ("Coat by Liposphere") with applications in orthopedics and ophthalmology. Their lead orthopedic product is entering clinical trials to demonstrate superiority over saline in reducing friction and improving outcomes in osteoarthritis. Pilot studies have also been conducted with commercial partners on artificial joint implants. An ophthalmic formulation targets Dry Eye Syndrome with long-lasting lubricity effects[1][2].
