Little Zebra Fund

The Little Zebra Fund is a physician-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to clinical genetic testing for patients with undiagnosed or ultra-rare diseases. Founded in 2018 by medical geneticists Dr. Maura Ruzhnikov and Dr. Gretchen Foskett, the fund provides financial assistance to families whose insurance has denied coverage for necessary diagnostic tests, such as exome or whole genome sequencing. By eliminating financial barriers, the organization aims to end the "diagnostic odyssey" for patients and facilitate timely medical interventions. The fund has recently transitioned its operations to become a permanent campaign under the umbrella of the Undiagnosed Diseases Network Foundation (UDNF).
