Living Carbon

Living Carbon is a private public benefit company developing and deploying genetically engineered trees and reforestation projects to increase carbon capture, restore degraded land, and generate carbon removal credits. The company combines plant biotechnology, forestry operations, and carbon project development, with a particular focus on abandoned mine lands and degraded agricultural land in the United States. Its commercial offerings include certified carbon credits, bespoke sequestration projects, and biomass-oriented woody crop solutions. Living Carbon has also advanced large carbon offtake agreements, including a major deal with Microsoft, while continuing R&D on photosynthesis-enhanced and metal-accumulating trees.
