Overview
Livmor Biosciences is a Canadian biotechnology company focused on developing novel precision diagnostics and therapeutics to predict and prevent preterm birth and fetal inflammation. Spun out from the University of Alberta and founded by perinatal physiologist Dr. David Olson, the company's flagship technology is the Leukocyte Migration Assay (LMA), a patented bioassay designed to predict the timing of preterm birth with high accuracy from a simple blood draw. In collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada, Livmor is translating this assay into a point-of-care microfluidic chip. Additionally, the company's research supports the development of targeted anti-inflammatory therapeutics, such as interleukin receptor antagonists, to stop preterm labor before contractions begin.
