Locus Pharmaceuticals

Locus Pharmaceuticals was a biotechnology company specializing in computational drug discovery and fragment-based design of small molecule therapeutics. The company utilized a proprietary platform to simulate protein-ligand interactions at the atomic level, allowing for the precise engineering of candidates targeting kinases and G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Their lead program, LP-590, was a p38 kinase inhibitor that reached Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. In June 2010, Locus Pharmaceuticals was acquired by Ono Pharmaceutical, a Japanese firm, to enhance its internal drug discovery engine. Following the acquisition, Locus's technology and assets were integrated into Ono's research infrastructure.
