The company was formed to identify and merge with a high-growth healthcare or biotechnology business. In August 2021, it completed a business combination with eFFECTOR Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company pioneering the development of selective translation regulator inhibitors (STRIs). Following the merger, the combined entity operates as eFFECTOR Therapeutics and focuses on oncology treatments targeting the eIF4F complex and MNK kinases. The company's lead programs, tomivosertib and zotatifin, were advanced into Phase 2 clinical trials for various cancer indications.
