Louisiana Cancer Research Center

The Louisiana Cancer Research Center (LCRC) is a collaborative research consortium based in New Orleans, Louisiana, dedicated to advancing cancer research, education, and patient care. Established by the Louisiana State Legislature in 2002, the center integrates the research efforts of its member institutions: LSU Health New Orleans, Tulane University Health Sciences Center, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Ochsner Health. The LCRC facilitates interdisciplinary research programs, provides state-of-the-art core facilities, and supports clinical trials to translate laboratory discoveries into effective cancer treatments. Its primary mission is to achieve National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation and reduce the cancer burden in Louisiana through innovative science and community outreach. The center serves as a hub for oncology innovation in the Gulf South, fostering partnerships between academia, healthcare providers, and the biotechnology industry.
