Lourdes Health System was a prominent regional healthcare provider based in Southern New Jersey, anchored by the Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden. The system was widely recognized for its high-acuity services, particularly in cardiology, organ transplantation, and bariatric surgery. In addition to its flagship Camden hospital, it operated Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County and an extensive network of physician practices under Lourdes Medical Associates. In July 2019, the system was acquired by Virtua Health, integrating its facilities into one of the largest healthcare networks in the state. The transition maintained the system's legacy of specialized clinical care while expanding the reach of the Virtua Health brand.
