Company intelligence / Profile preview
Lucira Health developed the first FDA-authorized at-home molecular COVID‑19 test and later a combined COVID‑19 & Flu home test. Their platform provided lab-quality nucleic acid amplification testing in a disposable device. The company achieved high accuracy rates (~98%) compared to reference PCR methods. In early studies, they also reported promising results for at-home chlamydia/gonorrhea testing. Lucira went public in February 2021 but filed for bankruptcy in early 2023; Pfizer acquired its assets that year and discontinued the business by Q1 of 2025.
