Company intelligence / Profile preview
LumaMed has developed the LumaScan device, a tabletop inverted microscope designed to help surgeons visualize tumor margins during excision procedures. The technology aims to reduce repeat surgeries by providing real-time margin assessment. It has received grants from the National Cancer Institute and private investment but was not yet commercially available as of the last update. Clinical results are focused on improving surgical outcomes in breast and other solid tumor surgeries by enhancing intraoperative decision-making regarding tissue margins.
