Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Lung Cancer Online Foundation (LCOF) was a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of care and life for individuals affected by lung cancer. Founded in 2003 by patient advocate Karen Parles, the foundation provided a comprehensive, annotated online directory of resources, including information on treatments, clinical trials, and support services. LCOF also operated a research grant program to fund scientific studies aimed at improving lung cancer outcomes. The organization was highly regarded for its patient-centric approach and its efforts to provide "one-stop shopping" for lung cancer information. Following the death of its founder in 2009, the foundation's active operations appear to have ceased.
