Lustre Skin, formerly known as Ambicare Health, is a UK medical device and consumer health company developing wearable LED light therapy products for dermatology. The company was founded in 2004 as a spin-out from the University of St Andrews, NHS Tayside/Ninewells Hospital, and InnoScot Health. Its core product families include Ambulight PDT for non-melanoma skin cancer treatment in clinical settings and LUSTRE ClearSkin devices for acne and other skin applications in consumer and clinic channels. The business focuses on flexible, wearable light-based therapies that make phototherapy more convenient than traditional clinic-based systems. Ambicare is therefore a real healthcare company match, but its current operating name is Lustre Skin rather than Ambicare Health.
