Luthi Machinery is an industrial engineering company specializing in the design, manufacture, and leasing of high-performance can-filling and cutting machines—primarily serving the global tuna canning industry but also providing solutions for poultry, meat, vegetables, and pet food production. Founded in California in 1946 as a sardine label machine maker before expanding into automated filling systems for chunk-style tuna cans by the early '60s. The firm became globally dominant after entering international markets from the mid-'80s onward. In addition to its flagship solid pack and rotary fillers for canned fish products—which are widely used by major processors worldwide—Luthi also manufactures cutting equipment adaptable to various protein sources. The business was acquired by Atlas Pacific Engineering Company (now part of Gulftech International) around the year 2000 but continues to operate under its own brand with headquarters/manufacturing based out of Pueblo/Colorado. It does not operate within life sciences/biotech/pharma or healthcare sectors nor does it develop therapeutic modalities or clinical programs—it is strictly an industrial machinery provider focused on automation solutions for large-scale food production environments.
