Lymphact

Lymphact is a Portuguese biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative off-the-shelf cell therapies for cancer. The company's proprietary DOT-Cells (Delta One T cells) platform enables the large-scale expansion of a specific subset of gamma delta T cells that naturally possess potent anti-tumor activity against both hematological and solid tumors. Founded in 2013 as a spin-off from the Instituto de Medicina Molecular (iMM) in Lisbon, Lymphact was acquired by GammaDelta Therapeutics in 2018, which was subsequently acquired by Takeda in 2022. This technology now forms a critical part of Takeda's oncology pipeline, with the lead candidate TAK-012 (formerly GDX012) currently in Phase 1 clinical trials for acute myeloid leukemia. Lymphact's approach is distinguished by its ability to target cancer cells, including chemotherapy-resistant cancer stem cells, without the need for complex genetic engineering.
