M-Plan

M-Plan was a prominent health maintenance organization (HMO) based in Indianapolis, Indiana, that served as one of the state's largest managed care providers. Founded as a joint venture between Clarian Health Partners (now IU Health) and Methodist Hospital, the company provided comprehensive health insurance and medical management services to over 125,000 members. In 2007, M-Plan announced its exit from the commercial HMO business, endorsing Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield as its preferred successor for its membership base. The company was known for its integrated approach to healthcare delivery and its significant role in the Indiana insurance market before its operations were transitioned.
