MAC Biomedical

MAC Biomedical is a Taiwanese biotechnology company founded in 2018 that specializes in developing medical health products and animal health supplements using environmentally friendly technologies. The company's core technology, developed in collaboration with National Taiwan University (NTU) and various medical centers, is the patented DAE porous dispersion adsorption technology. This technology utilizes activated bamboo charcoal coated with biocompatible sodium alginate to create millispheres that selectively adsorb uremic toxins (such as indoxyl sulfate and p-cresol) in the gastrointestinal tract without adhering to the mucosal wall. MAC Biomedical's product portfolio includes CharXenPlus, CharXgen, and CharXenProb (a probiotic combination), which are designed to delay the progression of chronic kidney disease and improve uremic symptoms in both humans and companion animals.
