Madison Institute of Medicine

The Madison Institute of Medicine (MIM) is a non-profit research and educational organization based in Madison, Wisconsin, specializing in psychiatry and behavioral health. Founded in 1983 by Dr. James W. Jefferson and Dr. John H. Greist, the institute is internationally recognized for its specialized information centers, including the Lithium Information Center and the Obsessive Compulsive Information Center. MIM focuses on the collection, curation, and dissemination of scientific literature to support evidence-based treatment for conditions such as bipolar disorder, OCD, and social anxiety disorder. The institute has been instrumental in clinical research for psychiatric medications and the development of computerized assessment tools in collaboration with Healthcare Technology Systems.
