Magenta Therapeutics was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing novel medicines to improve and extend the curative power of stem cell transplants for patients with blood cancers, genetic diseases, and autoimmune diseases. The company's platform targeted the critical areas of transplant medicine, including patient preparation (conditioning), stem cell harvesting, and stem cell expansion. Magenta's lead program, MGTA-117, was an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) designed to selectively deplete stem cells before transplant. Following a patient death in its lead clinical trial in early 2023, the company halted development and subsequently completed a reverse merger with Dianthus Therapeutics.
