Maine Center for Lipids and Cardiovascular Health

The Maine Center for Lipids and Cardiovascular Health was a specialized medical practice and clinical research organization located in Scarborough, Maine. Established in 2004 by Dr. Leonard Keilson, the center focused on the diagnosis and management of complex lipid disorders and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. It served as a key site for numerous Phase 3 and Phase 4 clinical trials investigating therapies such as statins, niacin, and omega-3 fatty acids. Following the death of its founder in 2009, the center's operations and research programs were integrated into the MaineHealth Cardiology network. The center was recognized for its contributions to lipidology and its role in advancing preventive cardiac care in the New England region.
