Company intelligence / Profile preview
Makoto Life Sciences was a Cambridge-based biotechnology company focused on genomics-driven drug discovery and advanced small molecule synthesis. Founded in 2009 by renowned scientists Stuart Schreiber and Todd Golub from the Broad Institute, the company leveraged diversity-oriented synthesis (DOS) to identify novel therapeutic leads for challenging biological targets. In December 2010, Makoto was acquired by the Japanese pharmaceutical company Eisai. This acquisition served as the foundational step for the creation of H3 Biomedicine, Eisai's specialized precision medicine oncology subsidiary. The company's legacy lives on through the integrated research programs and the precision oncology platform established at H3 Biomedicine.
