MAPS Applied Research Center

MAPS Applied Research Center (MARC), now operating as the Nura Research Institute (NRI), is a premier clinical investigative site based in Edina, Minnesota, specializing in Phase I-IV clinical trials. Founded in 1999 as the research arm of Medical Advanced Pain Specialists (now Nura Pain Clinics), the center is a recognized center of excellence for neuromodulation and implantable pain control devices. MARC provides comprehensive clinical trial services, including protocol design, project management, and patient recruitment, leveraging an extensive database of over 75,000 patients. In May 2023, its parent company, Nura Pain Clinics, was acquired by Capitol Pain Institute, further expanding its reach and resources. Led by founder and principal investigator Dr. David Schultz, the institute has collaborated with major industry partners like Medtronic and Pfizer to advance innovative treatments for chronic pain, neurology, and other complex conditions.
