Marbio

Marbio is a Morocco-based biotechnology and biopharmaceutical manufacturing company focused on building vaccine and broader biopharma production capacity for Morocco and Africa. Founded in July 2021, the company was created to strengthen African health sovereignty and support the African Union goal of local vaccine production. Its Benslimane site is designed for fill-finish, packaging, cold-chain storage, and related quality capabilities for liquid and lyophilized vaccines and other biotech products. Marbio also received support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for development of a self-injectable contraceptive formulation for women and girls in low- and middle-income countries. In 2025, the company announced a strategic industrial partnership with Sanofi to locally manufacture and supply Sanofi vaccines in Morocco.
