The Marburg Ion Beam Therapy Center (MIT) is a specialized medical facility in Germany that provides advanced particle therapy for cancer treatment. It is one of the few centers worldwide offering both proton and carbon ion therapy, which allows for extremely precise targeting of tumors while minimizing radiation exposure to surrounding healthy organs. MIT is operated as a joint venture between the University Hospital of Heidelberg and the University Hospital of Giessen and Marburg.
