Marsam Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company that specialized in the development and manufacture of generic injectable drugs. Headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, the company focused on providing cost-effective alternatives for hospital-based medications, particularly in the anti-infective therapeutic area. Marsam operated high-standard sterile manufacturing facilities and maintained a robust portfolio of Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs). In 1995, the company was acquired by Schein Pharmaceutical for approximately $240 million to bolster Schein's injectable product line. Following subsequent industry consolidations, the legacy of Marsam's operations eventually became part of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries through its acquisition of Actavis Generics.
