Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative

Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative (MAeHC) was a non-profit health information technology services organization based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Founded in 2004 with seed funding from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the collaborative was established to drive the broad adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) and improve healthcare quality through data interoperability. MAeHC provided a wide range of services, including strategic consulting, EHR implementation support, and the management of health information exchanges (HIEs) for various healthcare stakeholders. The organization was a key player in the Massachusetts healthcare ecosystem, leading large-scale pilot programs and advising on state-level health IT policy. In 2020, MAeHC announced it would wind down its operations and dissolve, noting that its mission to digitize the healthcare system had largely been achieved.
