MatriCal

MatriCal was a private life science tools and laboratory automation company based in Spokane, Washington that developed products for biological sample preparation, sample management, and storage. Its offerings were aimed at drug discovery, genomics, proteomics, and biobanking workflows, including automated storage systems, microwell plates, sample tubes, and related automation tools. The company served research and pharmaceutical customers rather than developing therapeutics of its own. In July 2013, Brooks Automation announced an agreement to acquire the assets and business of MatriCal for approximately $10 million in cash. Following that transaction, MatriCal no longer appears to operate as an independent active company.
