Matrix Laboratories, often referred to as the Matrix Group, was a leading Indian pharmaceutical company specializing in the manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and finished dosage forms. The company gained global prominence as one of the world's largest suppliers of generic anti-retroviral (ARV) drugs, playing a critical role in providing affordable HIV treatments to developing nations. Matrix operated a vast network of FDA-approved manufacturing facilities and maintained a diverse portfolio across therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, CNS, and anti-infectives. In 2007, the company was acquired by Mylan (now Viatris), significantly expanding Mylan's global supply chain and API manufacturing capabilities.
