Company intelligence / Profile preview
Maxxam Analytics was a Canadian analytical laboratory services company that provided testing and related scientific services across environmental, petroleum, food safety, and DNA/forensics markets. The business operated a large national network of laboratories, depots, and service centers across Canada and processed millions of samples annually. In December 2013, Bureau Veritas agreed to acquire Maxxam from OMERS Private Equity for an enterprise value of CAD 650 million, and the transaction closed in early 2014. After operating for several years as Maxxam Analytics, a Bureau Veritas company, the business was formally rebranded to Bureau Veritas on June 3, 2019. Within healthcare and life sciences, its relevance was primarily in DNA testing, forensics, and pharmaceutical/food laboratory services rather than drug development.
