Maverick Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company specializing in the development of conditional T-cell engager therapies for the treatment of solid tumors. The company's proprietary COBRA platform is designed to produce highly potent bispecific antibodies that are only activated within the tumor microenvironment, thereby minimizing systemic toxicity and expanding the therapeutic window. Maverick's lead programs, including TAK-186 (formerly MVC-101) and TAK-280 (formerly MVC-280), target EGFR and B7-H3 respectively. In March 2021, the company was acquired by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company for up to $525 million, following a successful multi-year collaboration. Maverick continues to operate as a key component of Takeda's oncology pipeline, focusing on next-generation immunotherapy.
