Company intelligence / Profile preview
MBF Healthcare Acquisition was a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company formed to acquire one or more operating businesses in the healthcare industry. It was sponsored by principals affiliated with MBF Healthcare Partners and raised capital through an IPO on the American Stock Exchange/NYSE Amex. The company announced a proposed acquisition of Critical Homecare Solutions in 2008, but the transaction was later terminated amid market disruption. After failing to complete a business combination, MBF Healthcare Acquisition approved a plan of liquidation in April 2009 and ceased operations. The company was a financial acquisition vehicle rather than an operating biotech, pharma, or healthcare services company with its own product pipeline.
