MC China Limited was a prominent investment management firm focused on the Greater China market, originally established as a joint venture between Martin Currie and Heartland Capital Management. The firm gained significant recognition for its specialized healthcare investment arm, the China Healthcare Partnership (CHP), which was one of the first dedicated funds for the Chinese life sciences and healthcare sectors. MC China invested in numerous emerging leaders in the Chinese biotech and medical diagnostics space, such as Chemclin and Realton Corporation. In 2011, Heartland Capital Management acquired Martin Currie's stake in the joint venture to operate independently, continuing its focus on domestically listed A-shares and emerging leaders in the Chinese healthcare sector.
