Company intelligence / Profile preview
McLaren St. Luke’s was a nonprofit acute care community hospital in Maumee, Ohio, serving the Toledo-area market. Originally established as St. Luke’s Hospital in 1906, it officially joined McLaren Health Care on October 1, 2020 and operated as McLaren St. Luke’s as McLaren’s first Ohio hospital. The organization provided general inpatient and outpatient hospital services rather than developing a therapeutic drug pipeline, with capabilities including emergency care, surgery, imaging, laboratory services, and physician practices. In 2023, after sustained financial losses, declining utilization, and post-COVID operating challenges, the hospital wound down operations and closed on May 8, 2023. Its facilities, land, and physical assets were subsequently transferred to Mercy Health, while some affiliated physician services transitioned separately.
