MCM Vaccine

MCM Vaccine Company is a joint venture established by Merck (known as MSD outside the U.S. and Canada) and Sanofi Pasteur to develop and commercialize combination pediatric vaccines. The company's primary achievement is the development of VAXELIS, the first hexavalent vaccine approved in the United States for children aged 6 weeks through 4 years. VAXELIS provides protection against six diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, hepatitis B, and invasive disease caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b. By combining these components into a single series, the company aims to reduce the number of injections required for infants, improving compliance and ease of administration within the pediatric immunization schedule.
