McNeil Pediatrics

McNeil Pediatrics was a specialized pharmaceutical division of McNeil-PPC, Inc., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, primarily focused on the central nervous system and pediatric health markets. The company's most significant contribution to the field was the commercialization of Concerta (methylphenidate HCl), which utilized the proprietary OROS delivery technology to provide extended-release treatment for ADHD. In 2008, Johnson & Johnson reorganized its pharmaceutical business, merging McNeil Pediatrics into the Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals organization. This integration was designed to streamline operations and consolidate J&J's psychiatry and neurology portfolios. Consequently, McNeil Pediatrics no longer operates as a standalone entity, and its product line is now managed under the Janssen (J&J Innovative Medicine) umbrella.
