Based in Vancouver, it operated as a subsidiary of MDS Capital Corp, the venture investment arm of the life sciences conglomerate MDS Inc. The firm was notably responsible for managing the B.C. Life Sciences Limited Partnership, a collaborative fund involving the British Columbia government and the Royal Bank of Canada. Its portfolio included notable entities such as TerraGen Discovery and Inex Pharmaceuticals. The firm's activities were eventually absorbed or concluded following the restructuring of MDS Inc. and the transition of MDS Capital into Lumira Ventures in 2007.
