Medalchemy

Medalchemy is a technology-driven pharmaceutical research, development, and manufacturing company based in Alicante, Spain. Founded in 2002 and GMP-certified since 2013, the company specializes in the synthesis and scale-up of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), fine chemicals, and new chemical entities (NCEs). Medalchemy operates as a key European hub for medical cannabis extraction and manufacturing under its parent company, Curaleaf International (formerly EMMAC Life Sciences). It was the first laboratory in Spain to receive a license to manufacture and export medical cannabis oils, and in 2026, it became the first to register standardized cannabis preparations (CAN-1 and CAN-2) under Spain's national medical cannabis framework. Additionally, Medalchemy provides contract research organization (CRO) and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) services, supporting clinical trials and custom synthesis from milligram to multi-kilogram scales.
