Medex Medical

Medex, Inc. was a leading global manufacturer of medical devices specializing in infusion systems, critical care, and anesthesia products. The company was widely recognized for its pressure monitoring systems, safety catheters, and the Medfusion line of syringe infusion pumps. Medex expanded its market presence through strategic acquisitions, most notably the purchase of the Medfusion business from Baxter International in 2002. In 2005, Medex was acquired by Smiths Group plc for approximately 925 million USD and integrated into the Smiths Medical division. Following the acquisition of Smiths Medical by ICU Medical in 2022, the Medex product portfolio is now part of the ICU Medical brand.
