Transdermal GFR System
Commercial- Indications
- Chronic kidney disease
Company intelligence / Profile preview
MediBeacon has developed a proprietary transdermal GFR system using the fluorescent tracer relmapirazin (Lumitrace), which enables non-invasive real-time measurement of kidney function. The TGFR system was FDA approved in January 2025 for assessing glomerular filtration rate in adults with impaired or normal renal function. Clinical studies have shown that mGFR measured by Lumitrace matches established standards such as iohexol clearance over a range of values. Additional applications of their fluorescent tracer/sensor technology are under development for gastrointestinal permeability and potentially other organ systems.
