Medical Capital Holdings was a specialized financial services company that focused on providing working capital and accounts receivable financing to healthcare providers, including hospitals and medical practices. The company operated by purchasing medical receivables at a discount and issuing private placement notes to investors, purportedly to fund these healthcare operations. However, the company became the subject of a major SEC investigation and was eventually exposed as a massive Ponzi scheme, leading to its collapse and liquidation. At its peak, it managed billions of dollars in assets before being placed into receivership in 2009.
