Medical Center of the Americas Foundation

Medical Center of the Americas Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in El Paso, Texas that develops and coordinates a regional life sciences, biomedical, and healthcare innovation ecosystem. Rather than operating as a therapeutic drug developer, the organization builds infrastructure for health innovation through its biomedical campus, incubator facilities, startup support programs, STEM initiatives, and clinical trials network. Its assets and programs include the Cardwell Collaborative research and commercialization building, the Melinda and Meyer Marcus Foundation Innovation Center, and MCA Clinical Trials, which supports industry-sponsored clinical research across the Texas, New Mexico, and binational border region. The foundation serves as a convener among healthcare providers, academic institutions, researchers, entrepreneurs, and public-sector stakeholders to stimulate economic development and improve health outcomes in the Paso del Norte region.
