Medical Device Link (MDL) was a pioneering online information portal and directory serving the global medical device manufacturing industry. Launched in 1996 by Canon Communications, the platform provided a comprehensive suite of resources including industry news, technical articles, regulatory updates, and a searchable database of thousands of suppliers and consultants. It functioned as a digital extension of prominent industry publications such as Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry (MD+DI) and supported major trade events like Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M). Following a series of acquisitions by UBM and later Informa, the MDL brand was largely integrated into the broader MD+DI online ecosystem, though its legacy as a central medtech information hub remains significant.
